Terms of use

You can use Slowcart to keep lists of things you want and to watch what they cost. It costs nothing. We can change or stop it, and you can stop using it and delete everything, at any time, without asking anyone.

A price on this site is what we last read at that address, at the time shown next to it. That timestamp is part of the price, not decoration — it’s there because a price without one is a claim we can’t back.

It is not an offer, and we’re not the seller. It may be wrong: a retailer can change a price a second after we read it, a page can be misread, and a checkout can add tax, shipping, or a regional difference we never saw. Check the retailer’s own page before you buy. If something looks wrong, tell us — a parser that has quietly stopped working is the failure we most want to hear about.

We are not paid by any retailer and take no commission on anything you buy. Nothing shown here has been ordered, ranked, or chosen because someone paid for it.

We’ll try to check your items regularly and email you when a price drops far enough to be worth your attention. We don’t promise that every check happens, that every drop is caught, or that an email arrives — retailers block us, parsers break, and mail gets filtered.

So: don’t rely on Slowcart for something that has to be bought by a deadline. It’s a good way to stop refreshing a tab. It is not a guarantee.

• Add links to things that are for sale. That’s the product.
• Don’t use it to attack anyone — that includes pointing it at a URL to make us send traffic somewhere.
• Don’t try to work out who claimed what on a list you own. It’s built to stop you, and it’s built that way for a reason.
• Only share a list with people you meant to share it with. Anyone holding the link can open it, which is what makes it work in a group chat.
• Don’t break it on purpose.

If an account is doing one of those things we’ll close it. In anything short of the obvious, we’ll ask first.

What you put in is yours. We store it to run the service and for nothing else — not to train anything, not to sell, not to advertise against. We claim no ownership of it.

Slowcart is provided as it is, with no warranty of any kind. It is early software. Things will break, and when they do the most we owe you is a fix and an honest explanation of what happened.

Since the service is free, we’re not liable for losses arising from using it — a missed price, a bad reading, an alert that never came. Where the law doesn’t allow a limit like that, it doesn’t apply to you.

If Slowcart shuts down, we’ll tell you by email before it goes and give you a way to take your lists and their price history with you. That history is the one thing here that can’t be recreated, and disappearing with it would be the worst version of this ending.

The date at the top moves. For a change that materially reduces what you get, we’ll email you first.
